Oilseeds are always conditioned before large scale expelling and minimize the need for pre treatment by using a high sped worm shaft that shears the oil seeds as it passes through the expeller and produces frictional heating with in the expeller chamber cage set. Raised temperature of oilseed assists oil expulsion where as in case of small-scale expeller; oil extraction will be assisted by heating and/or steaming the oilseed before expelling. Heat treatment is essential for some seeds with low fiber content such as Groundnuts.
